A new Repair Café in Watford which launched earlier this month is encouraging residents to reuse and recycle instead of throwing things away.
Aiming to reduce waste and boost environmental sustainability, Sustainable South West Herts CIC launched the initiative on Saturday, October 11. It will return to St Mary’s Church from 10am to 1pm every second Saturday of the month.
Whether it’s broken furniture, a dishevelled jumper, dull jewellery or a wonky bicycle, residents are invited to bring in any item in need of repair.
All repairs made will be free of charge, with the only cost being any new materials or extra parts needed.
Tea and cake will also be available for visitors.
A spokesperson for the Repair Café said: “We are incredibly excited to launch this much-needed Repair Café and have had support from a number of Watford ward councillors and county councillors, Watford Rotary, and Watford and Three Rivers Friends of the Earth.”
