A group of young local musicians have helped to raise £3,700 through a charity concert.
The Amersham Festival of Music gave musicians Emma Harrington, Thomas Harrington, Lucy Howitt, Iris Kayakiran and Jude Kayakiran the opportunity to perform as part of the 39th edition of the festival at St Mary’s Church on Sunday, April 23.
This year, the music festival showcased young musical talent from across the area while supporting the work of UNICEF in Ukraine.
The event was a huge success, with more than 160 tickets sold and £3,734 raised at the time of writing.
Emma said: “We’re delighted to be able to perform a concert at the Amersham Festival of Music in aid of children in Ukraine, and grateful that we will be able to donate all our profits to support UNICEF’s work in a country that has seen the kind of war and devastation that we had only previously read about in history books. It’s a real privilege to be able to use our musical talents to help in any way we can.”
