MOVE FOR WELLNESS: Watford gym hosts six hour charity cycling event

Published on: 30th November 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Gym Group in Watford is hosting a six-hour spinathon in January, in aid of local campaign Move For Wellness.

David Baum, from Bushey, founded Move For Wellness at the start of 2021 to encourage people to get people moving to help focus on their physical and mental health.

David said: “Move For Wellness is about movement and goodness in life. We have so many beautiful parks around us we can use to get moving. Cassiobury Park is a brilliant area we can take advantage of. We can link so much together to improve health and raise endorphins.”

He hopes to raise money for two projects including a Talking Café, where people suffering can receive free help from councillors and a new concept of Oasis of Calm, offering sensory rooms for people feeling overwhelmed by their emotions.

The Spinathon will take place on Sunday, January 9 at The Gym Watford on 15 Imperial Way. Move For Wellness founder David will be riding for the entirety of the six hour Spinathon and is encouraging others to get involved in the challenge alongside him.

You don’t need to be a member of The Gym to take part, but to get involved you must pre-register and make a donation of £25 to secure a bike and t-shirt or vest.
