Watford Borough Council (WBC) recently held a public consultation on plans to revamp the town centre.
To make the town more cycle friendly, potential improvements have been suggested between the High Street, Watford High Street station and the lower entrance at Atria Watford.
The town’s iconic pyramid, which is currently home to the Cotswold Outdoor shop, could be replaced by a new sustainable transport hub.
WBC has also said that the fully glazed building will not meet future energy performance targets set as part of a new policy from the Labour government.
The consultation also included plans to tighten ring road junctions to reduce traffic speed and improve safety on pedestrian crossings.
It is hoped that these changes would create more space for bus stops and bike hiring facilities, and allow for segregated cycle lanes in both directions.
WBC said the changes will create a “more attractive and memorable gateway” into the town.
The consultation closed on Thursday, August 8.
