Hemel Hempstead Town FC faced disappointment following a replay of their FA Cup fourth-round qualifying match against Woking FC on Tuesday, October 17.
The first match was played on Monday, October 16. Despite a valiant effort from the Tudors, the 0-0 scoreboard meant a second match replay was to be held the following day.
At Kingfield Stadium the next day, after several decisions including a penalty and a missed foul that did not go down well on the Tudors’ side, as well as an excellent save from the Woking goalie, the Tudors accepted their 2-0 fate.
A spokesperson for the club said: “The lads never gave up and had more chances as they pushed forward, but it wasn’t to be, and Woking earned themselves a tasty first round tie down at Ramsgate.
“Big respect to the Tudor Army who turned up in numbers to try and roar their team on.”
Dan Karczmarek, a devout Tudor fan, said: “It was never meant to be for us! Saying this, I was proud of how hard our boys worked and shared their disappointment at full time.”
