MISS EARTH: Croxley woman competes to win international beauty pageant

A 27-year-old office manager from Croxley is in the running to become Miss England, Scotland and Wales for 2022’s Miss Earth competition, having already been crowned Miss Hertfordshire.

Marcie Reid will be representing the county at the Miss Earth GB pageant this month, located at the East Midlands Hilton Hotel. She’s competing to be one of three women to take the crown and head to the grand final in Vietnam early next year.

The Miss Earth contest is one of the ‘Big Four’ international beauty pageants, along with Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss International. Unlike the others however, it has a focus on environmental awareness, social responsibility and conservation.

Marcie is no stranger to pageant success, having previously come second in the top 10 contenders in two previous competitions and been awarded Miss Charity and Miss Publicity for her hard work.

Speaking about her involvement in the competition, Marcie said: “Miss Earth GB is the culmination of my pageant career, and it is such a privilege to walk the Miss Earth stage. I really hope I can make my home county proud and bring home the national crown to Hertfordshire!”

Outside of her pageant life, Marcie is many other things, including an office manager, student, volunteer, avid reader and bodybuilding competitor. She enjoys walking, hiking, spending time at the gym and volunteering in local events.

She added: “I’m always looking for community events and charity fundraisers I can get involved with so if anyone has anything coming up – please do let me know!”

The Miss Earth GB pageant is set to take place on July 16, with the international Miss Earth final scheduled for January 2023 in Vietnam.
