Several women from The Chalfonts are preparing to take on the London Marathon in aid of two health charities.
The dynamic duo of Marie Bir-Staunton and Kate Blackwell are set to take part in the world-famous race on Sunday, April 23, to raise money for local charity, Liberty’s Legacy.
The charity was founded in tribute to Chalfont St Peter schoolgirl Liberty Schurer, who died at the age of 14 after being diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, and aims to raise funds for research into the disease.

Also running the marathon will be Chalfont St Peter resident Lindsay Turner, who is raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Her charity of choice was inspired by her grandma Pauline, who was known to everyone for her love of running. Sadly, in her last years of life, she was diagnosed with vascular dementia.
