A district councillor from Hertfordshire has done no less than three marathon-style events to raise money for a Northwood hospice.
Chris Lloyd, who is a councillor for the Three Rivers region in the county, is an avid runner outside of his political life, but two injuries this year have had an effect.
Despite this setback, he’s still managed to complete three events recently, all in support of Michael Sobell Hospice, located at Mount Vernon Hospital.
The first was the Moor Park 10k, which due to his injury, Chris had little time to train for, though he has taken up cross training through cycling.
The second was a self-organised event, a trek along the Grand Union Canal from his home in Croxley Green to Paddington in London, a route that takes up well over 28 miles. He completed this with his friend Kerry Ross.
The third and final event was the Royal Parks Half-Marathon in London, on Sunday, October 9.
Speaking about the hospice he has been fundraising for, Chris said: “The work of Michael Sobell Hospice is vital in our community.”
