Police have arrested a man who brandished a machete in Abbots Langley.
Hertfordshire Constabulary launched a helicopter in search for the man who damaged a car and the inside of a property in Long Elms, Abbots Langley.
Police were called to the scene at 2.29pm on Saturday, February 2. The offender left the property and was reported to be in a possession of a machete.
Officers attended and a police car was damaged, and an officer was assaulted before being arrested.
Darren Guthrie, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with common assault, two counts of criminal damage to vehicles (a car and a police car), criminal damage (inside the property), possession of an offensive weapon and assault on police.
He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on February 4 where he was remanded into custody to appear at Crown Court at a later date.
