MAN WANTED: E-fit image released after man attacks two women in Amersham

Published on: 3rd June 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police in the area are hoping someone will recognise an E-fit image after a woman was strangled in Amersham.

At 10.30am on Sunday, May 23, a woman aged in her thirties was jogging in Rodgers Wood in Amersham, adjacent to the A413 and A355, when she came across a man and a woman who were seemingly in a verbal confrontation.

As the jogger went by, the man grabbed the woman by the throat. The jogger tried to intervene, but the man threw an object towards her which struck her in the head.

The man then produced a pen knife, and then a minor scuffle led to the jogger sustaining a cut to her hand, for which she did not need hospital treatment.

The offender, depicted in the E-fit image, is described as a white man, with short and dark coloured hair, of medium build.

He was dressed in a North Face rain jacket in a dark colour, believed to be black or navy. He was also wearing hiking shoes.

Investigating officer, PC Ben Flaherty, of Amersham Police Station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information relating to it.

“Anyone who has information on this, or thinks they recognise the person depicted in the E-fit, is please asked to report this matter online, or call 101.

“Please quote reference 43210222539 when making any reports.

“Alternatively, you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 for 100 per cent anonymity.”
