A man has been charged with vehicle interference offences in Croxley Green.
Jason Dowsett, 49, of no fixed address, was charged with three counts of interfering with a motor vehicle on July 23.
He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 23 August.
At approximately 1am on the day he was charged, police received reports that a man was seen trying car door handles on vehicles in the Watford Road area of Croxley Green.
Officers from the Three Rivers Intervention team immediately attended the location before arresting a man and taking him to custody.
Three Rivers Chief Inspector Nick Lillitou said: “The members of the public who called us to say they had seen suspicious activity in the area did absolutely the right thing because officers were able to get to the location quickly and detain a man.
“We are now conducting several lines of enquiry however we would also like to appeal to residents who live on Watford Road who have doorbell cameras or home CCTV systems.
“We would be grateful if you could review your footage around the time of the incident and let us know if you believe you have captured anything or anyone of note.”
