As part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of collecting information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 Terrorism Act (TACT), 2000.

The man was initially stopped on Wednesday, June 7 under schedule 7, TACT 2000, after he arrived into the UK at Luton on a flight from Kosovo. He was subsequently arrested and taken to a local Bedfordshire police station and has since been released on bail to a date in early July.

The arrest is Islamist-related.

As part of the investigation, officers also carried out a search at a residential address in the Watford area. All searches are now complete and enquiries continue.
