Members of a St Albans, Harpenden and Kings Langley-based dance academy are set to represent their country in a prestigious international disco competition in June.
Fiftteen students at SW Dance Academy will be part of Team GB in the International Dance Organisation’s World Disco and Disco Freestyle Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. These are set to take place between June 22 to June 25.
Coming from across the area, the group of young move-makers are aiming to make their mark on the dance floor at the contest, which has been an ongoing event since 1981.
SW Dance Academy principal, Suzie Wallington, said: “I am very proud of this group of talented young dancers. They have been training incredibly hard, always give 100 per cent to their dance tuition and really deserve this opportunity to represent their country”.
The group have also set up a fundraiser to help the chosen girls with their entry fees, travel costs, kit and accommodation prices, amongst other things.
