Heartbreak and love are muses for many great artists, poets and musicians, but a Pinner resident is doing it differently with her alt pop EP.
Emma Elizabeth’s journey began with a fridge and some magnets, which she used to create lyrical lines of poetry about her experiences as a teenager.
After borrowing a guitar from her friend, Emma transformed her written words into songs made with meaningful melodies.
Having built up a following, Emma decided to turn her experience of an on-off relationship into reflections about her experience. The result is her new EP, Not My Person, released on Thursday, March 27.
Speaking to Pinnernews, Emma shared: “When you are writing about something personal with your life, it can help you to process and move on, but you can also get stuck in your feelings.
“I want someone who is going through the same thing to feel that they are not the only person feeling trapped.”
