LOCKDOWN BOOGIE: Hemel Hempstead family create music video about lockdown

Published on: 29th April 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

A family of five in Hemel Hempstead have used the lockdown period to get creative by filming a music video all about the current situation residents are finding themselves in.

After a similar video was brought to the attention of mum, Charlotte Ashton, she thought it’d be a fantastic way to celebrate her birthday getting all of the family involved in creating the ‘lockdown boogie’.

Speaking to HemelNews, Charlotte admitted: “We really didn’t expect the video to get so much attention and we have no idea why it has. My husband and three children were all keen to get involved as we are all looking for fun things to do during this current period.

“If we managed to put a few smiles on people’s faces with this video then that is fantastic.”

Charlotte’s husband, Neal, featured in the video alongside two of their three children, William who is 17 and Henry who is 11.

Thomas, 16, filmed and edited the whole video, and they think it took them around 14 hours to finish and edit the whole thing.

Charlotte continued: “The boys were all fairly keen to get involved with it, and lockdown has been good for us to spend time together as a family. There is never really any time with us working and the kids being in school so that has been one good thing that’s come out of all this.

“We’ve embraced the opportunity and we’re coping really well to be honest. We’re still trying to keep up to a routine, but the boys are starting to miss school now.”
