LOCAL HEROES: Chorleywood legends to receive awards at community event

Published on: 28th June 2024   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

The annual Chorleywood Village Day is returning later this month, with two community legends set to receive special prizes at the event.

The day, which is organised by Chorleywood Parish Council, will take place on the Common from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, July 13.

At the event, there will be time set aside to recognise village pharmacist Hitesh Dodhia and parish councillor Jon Bishop.

The two have been awarded the Freedom of the Parish and Community Champion prizes respectively, having been nominated by many residents for the work they have done for the village.

Hitesh has been a long-standing fixture in Chorleywood life as the operator of the Parade’s pharmacy for more than 20 years, always going above and beyond to support residents.

Cllr Bishop was nominated by the Chorleywood Residents’ Association committee, who have appreciated his advice and help with understanding some large local planning applications.

The prizes will be awarded at the Village Day, which will also feature pig petting, an acoustic chillout zone, a dog show, community/business stalls, arena performances, food and drink, and more.
