When the local branch of structural engineering company Capita Property and Infrastructure won £500 for completing a staff survey staff were asked what charity funds should be donated to. Jane Pickering, office manager, was amazed to get responses from everyone within 10 minutes and the vote was unanimously for Peace Hospice Care. Capita Property and Infrastructure have been in Watford since the branch was opened in 1984 by director Neil Buthee and this is the first time they have won the survey donation. Jane was delighted that the money could be given to the charity of everyone’s choice. Rachel Fowler, corporate development manager at Peace Hospice Care popped in to thank the staff. She said: “We are overwhelmed to know that every member of staff chose to support the services we offer to patients and families. Company support such as this is fabulous and really helps us to raise the £4m in voluntary income we need each year to offer our services free of charge across South West Hertfordshire.”
