Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor paid a visit to the Bushey Badger Unit to present young first aiders with special awards.
Badgers are the youngest group of the St John Ambulance Group, for those aged under 11. The group takes part in a range of fun activities based on essential first aid and other topics, earning badges and certificates for each one.
Mayor Taylor told BUSHEYnews: “It was wonderful to visit the St John Ambulance volunteers in Bushey. The Watford and Bushey Youth Badger Unit are a really impressive group of young people who clearly care about others and their local environment.
“It was a privilege to present some of the awards and to be able to thank the dedicated team of volunteers who support this group week in, week out. St John Ambulance are such an important organisation; they save lives and keep communities safe. It was fantastic to see the next generation of first aiders being well supported in Bushey.”
