North Watford campaigner and Liberal Democrat council candidate, Ian Stotesbury, has announced plans to create a new business improvement area bringing together businesses and residents on St Albans Road.
The new forum would work with Watford Council on practical ways to improve the area. Mr Stotesbury’s proposal has already been backed by Mert Gunseber who runs Mangal Cafe on St Albans Road and Peter Taylor the current Deputy Mayor.
Liberal Democrat campaigner for North Watford Ian Stotesbury said: “There’s so much potential here left to unlock for the local high street and surrounding areas and I think it’s long overdue that there’s a business club here.”
“One of the things we’re keen to do is see the investment we’ve managed to foster in Watford now properly extend out from the town centre and help give us the St Albans Road residents deserve.”
St Albans Road business owner Mert Gunseber said:
“Ian often uses the phrase ‘there’s so much potential here to unlock’ and I couldn’t agree with him more. This is a positive step and I look forward to working with everyone who has ideas for the local high street and surrounding areas.”
