A new Compassionate Café has been launched in Garston to support people who have been affected by bereavement.
The new sessions, launched by Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care in February, take place at The Random Café in Garsmouth Way from 10am to 11.30am on the third Thursday of each month.
The sessions provide a space for local people who have been affected by bereavement or any kind of loss to meet others for a cuppa and a chat.
Each session, which is run by volunteers, will be informal in structure and guided by the needs of the people attending.
Nicky, one of the volunteers at the café, said: “Compassionate Cafés offer a great opportunity for us as volunteers to be able to provide comforting and reassuring company in a friendly environment to those who are trying to build up the confidence to venture out, meet with people again, and feel a sense of inclusion after suffering a loss.”
