Amersham residents are being invited to a charity quiz night in aid of Chiltern Foodbank.

The foodbank supplies emergency food parcels to people in the Chiltern District and Wendover area. They rely on donations from the general public, and have permanent collection bins in local supermarkets and a network of Food Champions around the local area. Chiltern Foodbank work with more than100 referral partners that assess needs and issue vouchers which can be exchanged for a food parcel with is delivered to the person’s home.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own food and drink and bring something to donate to the foodbank stocks – tinned or dry packaged items.
Town Mayor, councillor Elizabeth Shepherd, said: “That way we can maximise what we raise for the foodbank and hopefully we will leave the evening with a container of supplies to help people who would otherwise go hungry.”
Cash donations for the foodbank will also be accepted on the night.
