St Albans City FC’s versus Tonbridge Angels was abandoned today after one of the players sustained a leg injury.

The match, which was played at Longmead Stadium, had to be abandoned after St Albans City’s Devante Stanley suffered the injury.

An ambulance arrived and the medical team were on the pitch as the injury looked serious.

The match was Tonbridge 0-1 The Saints at the time.

Manager Ian Allison said: “Everyone at SACFC would like to thank the management team, players and medical staff at @tonbridgeangels for the way they handled the difficult situation this afternoon.

“We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks time when the game is scheduled to be replayed.”

“We will have an update on Devante in the coming days.”
