Wealdstone left it late but Michee Efete pounced with just seven minutes to spare as Dean Brennan’s side continued their impressive start to the new campaign at home against Oxford City.
The defender put the ball away after it bounced round the Oxford area following a corner.
The visitors can have no complaints after they showed little ambition in the 90 minutes, came to defend and paid the price.
The Stones now top the table by seven points after Maidstone equalised in stoppage time against Havant and the result caps off the perfect weekend after Brennan and striker Ross Lafayette were named manager and player of the month for August respectively.
