Published on: 20th May 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

A sinkhole has appeared in a driveway outside a property in Hemel Hempstead.

The hole, around two metres wide, appeared during the early hours of this morning (May 20) in Marston Close and was discovered by Nicola Archibald at around 7.30am.

Hertfordshire County Council contractors Ringway have made the site safe so the work can be inspected.

Nicola spoke to MyHemelNews of her shock to wake up to a sinkhole.

She said: “I was getting ready to take my daughter to school and my husband was shouting ‘oh my God come look at the front’ and it was a tiny hole.”

Nicola filmed the discovery and witnessed the hole collapse.

The county council have been contacted for a comment.
