The newly formed Edgware Town Ladies football team took their first steps into competitive football on Bank Holiday Monday at the annual Denham Ladies six-a-side tournament. It was a steep learning curve but the team gave it their all and battled hard, gaining valuable experience and some plaudits from referees and opposition alike. Manager Chris Walker was full of praise of his side.” I am very proud of the ladies team today, they got stuck in and displayed great courage and determination against sides who are established and very experienced. Our players never gave up and should hold their head highs” It’s onwards and upwards for the Ladies team as they face Hackney Wick Ladies FC in their first 11 a side friendly match next Sunday June 5th. Kick off at Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, NW9 7NE is 6pm. The team are looking for more people to get involved, so if you are interested in playing , volunteering or coaching, you can contact Chris Walker on 07833 603472 or email him at ladies@edgwaretownfc.co.uk
