Kings Langley edge closer to play-offs spot

Published on: 24th March 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Kings Langley F.C

Kings Langley FC carried on their promotion push with a 1-0 victory over Wimborne Town FC on Saturday, March 23.

Langley made the early running but chances proved to be at a premium.

Rene Howe found himself in a good position to score after a Stevie Ward flick, but it forced a comfortable save from the Wimborne keeper.

After 30 minutes, Andronicos Georgiou tried to curl a sweet effort from the edge of the box but it was deflected by a defender.

Less than 10 minutes into the second half Langley took the lead. Wimborne attempted to play the ball backwards, but the keeper failed to clear the ball properly.

Howe was on hand to slot the ball home and put Langley into the lead.

Around them in the table, another defeat for Harrow Borough FC meant Langley sit four points above them in sixth position, still with one game in hand.

Kings Langley will play that game against Hartley Wintney at The Sadiku Stadium on Tuesday night (March 26) at 7.45pm.

If they snatch all three points again, The Lango will sit fifth – just inside the play-offs – but with a very weak goal difference compared to other teams surrounding them.
