KINGS CAPTAIN: Why Jorell Johnson left The Lango

Published on: 20th September 2019   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Kings Langley F.C

Kings Langley Football Club (KLFC) fans’ eyebrows were raised last month when the club announced that captain Jorell Johnson was leaving on a month-long loan.

The club announced Johnson’s move to BetVictor Southern Premier South side, Walton Casuals FC at the beginning of this month and fans took to Twitter to show their confusion and speculate.

KLFC director Darren Elliot told KingsNews the real reason the 23-year-old captain was allowed to go.

Darren said: “We let him go for a number of reasons; the main one being that the lad was unsettled.

“It was an unsettling summer for him because there were so many new players coming in and it got to a point where he wasn’t as happy and content as he had been previously.

“We personally found him an opportunity at Walton because they’ve got our former management team and quite a few of our former players, who Jorell used to play with.

“We knew he’d be comfortable there and they’re not competitors for us; we’d never have let him go to a team in our league.

“He’s been with us for three or so seasons now, he’s a good talent with a really good personality – there’s no bad blood there at all, we still talk regularly and we certainly expect him to come back into our side.”
