A girl from Radlett has showcased her incredible musical skills on national television.

Anisa appeared on the third series of Channel 4’s The Piano on Sunday, April 13. After her performance at Liverpool Street Station, she was selected to play in the final concert, securing her appearance in two further episodes.

The show features amateur pianists performing at train stations across the UK and is hosted by presenter Claudia Winkleman, popstar Mika, and Grammy Award-winning musician Jon Batiste. The winner of the show will have the opportunity to perform at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Following her debut, Anisa was invited to appear on ITV’s Lorraine breakfast show and has been featured in several national newspapers and magazines.

Speaking to Radlett News, Anisa’s father, Nick, shared: “We were absolutely thrilled when we found out she’d be appearing on The Piano. As a family, we were already huge fans of the show and had watched the first two series together, so it really felt like a dream come true for all of us to see her perform on it.”

Anisa started playing piano at the age of nine during the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning as a way to deal with the frustration of being stuck indoors and missing her friends. She initially taught herself using YouTube tutorials before going on to take formal lessons

Nick added: “Anisa takes all the attention from cameras to big audiences in her stride. I honestly don’t know how she does it sometimes. Of course she had some nerves, as it was a huge step for her, but she handled everything so well.

“As her father, I honestly couldn’t be prouder. Watching my daughter pour her heart into the piano and then seeing her on national TV, it’s deeply moving and fills me with so much joy. She’s worked so hard and to see her talent recognised like this is just incredible. It’s one of those moments I’ll never forget.”

Dreaming of becoming a concert pianist and performing at the Royal Albert Hall, Anisa continues to pursue her passion for music.
