Sarratt pub-goers were thrilled to meet the latest Strictly Come Dancing champion, who celebrated her victory with a Sunday roast.
Staff and customers of The Boot were delighted to open their doors to Coronation Street actor and latest Strictly winner Ellie Leach on December 17.
Speaking to Croxley News, The Boot manager Zoe Eliasson said: “We felt really special as this was a return visit. Her family came in before and enjoyed it so much that they came back. [Ellie’s] mum Karen called us on Sunday morning and got the last table!”
Ellie was crowned the latest Strictly Come Dancing champion on Saturday, December 16, along with her partner Vito Coppola, beating West End star Leyton Williams and fellow soap star Bobby Brazier. Despite being an amateur at dancing, Ellie’s progression and improvement impressed Strictly viewers, who did not hesitate to cast their votes in her favour.
Zoe said: “She’s a real family girl and generally just a really lovely person. She took the time to chat with our staff, take photos, and didn’t mind us interrupting her Sunday roast with her family. She had a lot of attention from the other guests.
“I asked her if she would carry on dancing, and she said she was looking into more classes to keep it up… you heard it here first!”
The pub has been open since the early 1700s, and Zoe’s parents met at The Boot, where she has been working since a teenager. Zoe and her partner Nick Idle now run the beloved boozer, which is no stranger to the odd famous face.
