A Year 7 student from Amersham School has organised a fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research.
When Amelie Upton’s grandad was diagnosed with a brain tumour, she asked the school if they could host a Christmas hat day to raise money.
The school readily agreed and the fundraiser, in which students wore a Christmas hat and donated £1 to the charity, took place on December 9.
Amelie said: “My grandad sadly was diagnosed with a brain tumour this year and I thought it would be a great idea to do some fundraising to help people now and in the future.”
Headteacher Mrs Harling said: “We are proud to assist Amelie in her worthy endeavours to not only raise money but also awareness. As a school, we run many fundraisers for all types of charities that our students feel passionate about.”
