Watford Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic said his team got what they deserved after losing out 3-1 to Huddersfield Town in Yorkshire. The Serbian was honest and to the point in his post-match reflections after the defeat at a blustery John Smith’s Stadium. “It was a very poor performance and we didn’t deserve anything,” he explained. “After 1-1 we had a very good chance to score a second goal but it is not enough to play well for 10 minutes, the games is 90 minutes long. “We didn’t do enough on the pitch for our ambitions or for our supporters’ ambitions.” Watford got themselves back in the game via Odion Ighalo’s equaliser, but Town then surged to victory with two quick goals which killed the Hornets off. Jokanovic felt the hosts had more energy, more fight and more desire to win the contest. “I didn’t see enough fight, we were not playing as a team. We have good players, but we didn’t do it in the game. I am very disappointed with our performance and we must urgently change if we want to achieve our targets. “If we are working and fighting all days then this gives us a chance but if we are not, it is impossible for us. We didn’t do enough to win the game or any points.” On a number of occasions during his post-match press duties, Jokanovic spoke about playing as a team and the unity that’s required to be successful. “I speak so much about being a team and all working today. We didn’t show that today,” he reflected. “At the end we didn’t deserve anything. The players must understand we are a simple Championship team. We are not big stars. “They need to work with more humility and to help each other.”
