A hospice which has a shop in Stanmore and Pinner is thrilled to announce the return of its biggest fundraising event of the year.
As St Luke’s Hospice is celebrating 35 years of providing care in the Harrow and Brent area they are excited to announce the return of the Midnight Walk, to raise much needed funds for the hospice.
The walk will begin in festive fashion at a Byron Park outdoor event village, where music, food, and entertainment will be available beginning at 9pm. A live warm-up event will then prepare everyone for the 10pm start on the marshalled route through Harrow.
The event is taking place on Saturday, June 25 from 10pm-3am. It is hoped that more than 1400 people will take part, each walking five or nine miles through the night together.
The event would not have been possible without the support of the event’s headline sponsor, HSBC UK. The event will be attended by employees from their local branches, who will join the team of volunteers to help make the event a success.
Network Manager Rajan Malde commented: “At HSBC we have a passion for really supporting those who support others in the community and that is exactly what St Luke’s Hospice does. This is why we are so proud to sponsor and support the Midnight Walk.”
A spokesperson for the event said: “You are guaranteed to have fun as you join over a thousand others, some in fancy dress and some glowing in the dark as they make their way around this huge, memorable and community spirited nighttime walk.”
Speaking on why she and her family decided to take part last year, Laxmi said: “We did the walk-in loving memory of my Uncle Manji Patel. He was looked after by St Luke’s Hospice where he received amazing care. He passed away peacefully on 30 June 2021. It was a very emotional journey for the whole family. The walk was a beautiful experience to be part of. I truly had an amazing time.”
