INVESTIGATION ENDS: Inquiry into proposals for 135 new Kings Langley homes concludes

Published on: 27th April 2024   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

An inquiry has concluded after developers looking to build 135 new homes in Kings Langley submitted an appeal.

After the plans from Cala Homes and Angle Property were rejected by Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) in October of last year, the developers appealed against the decision.

The inquiry ran from Tuesday, April 9, to Friday, April 12, at DBC’s Forum headquarters in Hemel Hempstead.

Kings Langley & District Residents’ Association (KL&DRA), joined by the Hertfordshire Campaign to Protect Rural England, both opposed the appeal.

Throughout the inquiry, KL&DRA gave a summary of the proceedings on their Green Belt Matters Facebook page. The issues discussed included the amount of affordable housing in the development and potential environmental problems.

At the inquiry’s conclusion, KL&DRA posted: “A huge thank you must go to KL&DRA’s chair Gary Ansell and Ann Johnson for all of their hard work throughout this inquiry.

“It has been a Herculean task and they have done everything they possibly could to protect this site for everyone in Kings Langley today and in the future.”

A date for the publication of the decision has not yet been announced, with KL&DRA stating that they don’t expect any proclamations until June.
