Students at a college in St Albans were on top form for a culinary competition coming out with four gold and one silver medal.
Five students from Oaklands College recently entered The International Salon Culinaires Skills competition, one of the largest live culinary competitions in the UK.
The Salon Culinaires competition is an annual event, which was held in association with The Craft Guild of Chefs and is a fantastic platform for all student chefs looking for their first taste of competition experience.
The students worked to put together a series of dishes ranging from avocado starters to chicken sauté.
Senior chef lecturer Paul Wood was delighted with the win which demonstrated what can be achieved through studying hospitality and catering at the college.
He said: “The students are a credit to the college, their success is fantastic news for their progress and the hard work put in by our lecturing staff. Well done.”
