Red Trust Bushey has welcomed a new foodbank manager to the team.
Last month, Bushey St James councillor Mia Handley, who had led the charity’s foodbank for several years, stood down to focus on her family and her role as a councillor.
She has been replaced by Christina Hayes, known as Krissy.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Krissy has been volunteering for the Family Foodbank for the past year and is a kind and caring person who has already made a great start running the Family Foodbank every Tuesday, 5pm to 6.30pm, from the Phoenix Community Centre, 4 Farrington Avenue.
“We are also delighted to announce that she has also opened the Friday Foodbank. Here visitors have a chance to pop in for a cuppa, chat and take part in an activity which we hope will brighten up the wintry months.
“Over Christmas, Krissy hosted a festive foodbank with food parcels for all and a super singalong to get everyone in the festive spirit. We are really excited to see what she has planned for the foodbank in 2024. Welcome Krissy!”
