Croxley Eagles Taekwondo Club are a new club founded in September 2021, who train at Croxley Methodist Church New Road.
Taekwondo is a worldwide Olympic sport originating in Korea. Its benefits including learning self-defence and self-control, improving fitness and improving flexibility and coordination.
Classes are led by instructor, Master Steve Leggett weekly on Saturday mornings from 10am, for children aged four to 14. Following the classes success, Steve hopes to introduce evening classes for adults and children soon.
Steve said: “I am a 4th Dan Master currently training under a Taekwondo legend Grandmaster Andy Davies. Benefits of Taekwondo for children include building self-confidence, learning self-defence, keeping fit, maintaining good mental health and much more.
“I have a daughter Madi who is 4th Dan black belt, she is approaching her 17th birthday and we have been training together for the last 12 years.”
Students are graded through a belt system from white (beginner) to black and beyond through the Dan grades. The group plans to attend sparring competitions in the near future.
