A seven-year-old boy from Pinner has had an incredible start in his first foray into the world of cricket, by taking a hat-trick for his local club.
Not only did Ibraheem Anwar achieve something most players in the sport never manage at any level – getting three batsmen out in three consecutive balls – he did it on his Eastcote Cricket Club Under 10s debut, playing three age groups up.
The starlet’s parents’ elation at taking his first club wicket turned to shock as two further Old Merchant Taylors’ batsmen immediately saw their stumps go flying.
In total, Ibraheem, who attends West Lodge Primary School in Pinner, took four wickets from his two overs, conceding just six runs in the process.
The youngster follows in the footsteps of older brother Muhammad, who scored 100 not out for the same club, as we reported last year.
Footage of Ibraheem’s hat-trick can be found on Eastcote Cricket Club’s Instagram at www.instagram.com/eastcotecc
