A police investigation into an alleged acid attack in Edgware has been closed after all lines of enquiry were “exhausted”.
Police were called to Hale Lane at around 8.40pm on Sunday, July 14, following reports of an acid attack at the Railway Tavern.
Officers attended and discovered six people with minor injuries sustained after having a liquid thrown at them. A further male victim was found with a head injury. None of the victims were seriously injured.
Crews from the London Ambulance Service also attended the incident and helped those with injuries.
Officers recovered a number of bottles from the scene containing a substance which was later confirmed as a weak acid.
The incident caused concern for many in the community as it followed similar crimes across the capital, which had led to more serious injuries.
The Met Police provided an update to Stanmore News on Thursday, September 5.
They said: “An investigation was launched and numerous enquiries were conducted. The matter was subsequently closed after all lines of enquiry were exhausted.
“Should further information come to light, it will be considered.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 6684/14July.”
