A school in Berkhamsted has been blown away by the response to its fundraiser for a new playground area.
Swing Gate Infant School and Nursery launched the fundraiser after its old playground was deemed unsafe by health and safety.
The Friends of Swing Gate School (FoSG) have helped to raise more than £10,000 in under two months to install a new adventure trail.
The overall cost will be £25,000, but with the school budget stretched, the help of the community and businesses locally and even abroad have helped to raise the necessary funds.
Michelle Turner, headteacher at Swing Gate, told Berkhamsted News: “We have been delighted and overwhelmed by the fantastic support from our school community, especially the FoSG in their phenomenal efforts in raising the funds needed in such a short space of time.
“Thank you to local businesses, and beyond, for their incredibly generous donations. Our children will greatly benefit from the new adventure playground, which we hope will be installed in January 2025.”
