A Berkhamsted resident has been named on the New Year’s Honours List 2023.
Nearly 30 people from Hertfordshire were honoured by King Charles, with Berkhamsted’s Tim Johnson among them.
Tim received an MBE for services to young people after years of charitable work with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), where he formerly served as CEO.
Louise Parkes, GOSH Charity’s chief executive, said: “In his 17-year tenure at GOSH Charity, Tim had an incredible impact on the charity’s purpose to support seriously ill children from across the UK.
“During his time at the organisation, GOSH Charity’s income grew from around £15million a year in 2002, to £90million in 2018/19, enabling us to continue supporting the hospital’s most urgent needs and helping to transform the lives of the 600 children who arrive at GOSH for life-changing treatment every day.
“On behalf of everyone here at the charity, we’d like to say a huge congratulations to Tim for being awarded an MBE for his services to young people, an accolade that is truly deserved.”
