A Watford thief has been handed a 12-week prison sentence after stealing a pedal bike worth £600 in Kings Langley.
Haben Ghebremlak was sentenced after admitting to three offences at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 26.
On Monday, February 17, Ghebremlak stole the bike from a victim in the village, for which he has been handed a 12-week prison sentence. He was also ordered to pay compensation amounting to the vehicle’s value.
A month later, on Monday, March 31, Ghebremlak also stole “petty cash”, sunglasses and perfume from another person that amounted to the approximate total value of £250.
For this, he was handed a further consecutive eight-week sentence and was ordered to pay back the value in compensation.
Ghebremlak also admitted to refusing to provide a sample for a class A drug test while detained in Hatfield on Saturday, May 24. He was sentenced to a further week in prison, which will be served concurrently with the theft sentences.
