Residents of Watford have bid a fond farewell to a beloved milkman who has been serving the local area for seven years.
Aaron Altman, who works as an independent milkman for AA Dairies Ltd, is giving up his job due to “the constant price rises” from suppliers and the recent fuel rises.
He delivered a letter to his customers informing them that he was leaving his position.
The letter reads: “It comes with great sadness I must inform you that I have taken the decision to sell AA Dairies Ltd.
“This decision has not been made lightly. It is no longer financially viable to keep the business open.
“I would like to thank you all for the support you have given myself and AA Dairies over the past seven years.”
Customers were saddened by the news as Aaron “looked after” the town for many years.
Sally, of Church Road, says Aaron kept everyone going throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
She added: “He’s absolutely amazing. He delivered to people who didn’t usually have milk delivered during the pandemic to help them.”
He was our milkman too. I can only second everything said. He is the loveliest, kindest person you could meet.
He has helped us and those around so much.
At a time of continual bad news and feeling He is a ray of sunshine.
He deserves a great send off and we wish him well in everything he does in the future..its our sad loss.
