A hospital worker and a driver of a vehicle were both injured after said vehicle crashed into a building at Watford General.
The incident took place on the morning of Thursday, August 11, where a car accidentally collided into one of the hospital’s administrative buildings. Two ambulances, one ambulance officer vehicle and the fire service were in attendance to the event.
One of the injured, a member of hospital staff, received treatment and has now been discharged from the emergency department. The driver involved remains in A&E.
Sally Tucker, chief operating officer, said: “We can confirm that an incident has occurred at Watford General Hospital on Thursday 11 August involving a car accidentally colliding into a non-clinical administrative building.
“One member of staff has been treated and now discharged from the emergency department. The driver remains in our emergency department. No patients or visitors were involved in this accident and there has been no disruption to patient services.
“We would like to thank Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and East of England Ambulance Service for their prompt arrival at the scene and our staff who provided immediate assistance.”
