A Chalfont St Peter resident is walking the distance of John O’Groats to Land’s End in the back lanes of the village to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Paul Dobbin, 63, began the 874-mile challenge on New Year’s Day and anticipates that it will take him around four months to reach his target. As he works full time, Paul has to squeeze in almost two hours of walking every evening.
Paul says you “can’t miss me” as he dresses head to toe in canary yellow, and he encourages passersby to honk their horns or give him a wave in support.
Paul, who has lived in the village since 2008, chose to support Prostate Cancer UK, because of the huge impact of the disease on so many lives.
He said: “Prostate cancer affects so many families, including my own, as my father-in-law suffered from the disease.”
Paul set himself the target of raising £300, and has already raised £290 at the time of writing. To donate, please visit www.bit.ly/3SsulHQ
