‘HUGELY SUCCESSFUL’: Popular annual Bushey festival returns with exciting new additions

Published on: 22nd May 2025   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

While the UK gears up for iconic events like Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, it’s the residents of Bushey who are truly in for a treat, as the beloved Bushey Performing Arts Festival (BPAF) and Bushey Parade make their much-anticipated return.

Organised by Dr Raymond Coffer, the festival will take place in the Mary Forsdyke Garden and Warren Lake, Bushey Heath, on Sunday, June 8.

This year, Hertsmere Borough Council has agreed to bring back the Bushey Parade in conjunction with the festival. Everyone, from residents to performers to traders, is invited to take part in the parade, which will walk approximately 800 metres along Bushey High Road.

St Peter’s car park will be converted into a podium as a new large Warren Stage will be erected and dedicated to dance, opera, music and theatre.

This year’s festival will also see the first-ever ‘Bayswater Road’ style Bushey Art Fair along the railings around the Mary Forsdyke Gardens and Warren Lake, where artists can exhibit their artwork.

More than 100 performers will take to eight stages, including singers, musical theatre groups, comedians, jugglers, poets, choirs, and even the classic Punch and Judy.

Two food courts will be providing a selection of cuisine and visitors will be able to browse a craft fair.

Speaking to BUSHEYnews, Raymond said: “This, as everyone knows, has become a hugely successful free annual community event, perhaps the best of the year, and will this year be expanding with some exciting new attractions.”
