GET SET: Popular Moor Park 10k run set to return to Northwood soon

Published on: 11th August 2022   |   By: Veer Aujla   |   Category: Uncategorized

The much-anticipated annual Moor Park 10k run is set to return on Sunday, September 18 at Merchant Taylors’ School.

The event – which raised over £61,000 last year – gives all its fundraising earnings to the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity which goes to support charities such as Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The fun run receives a diverse range of runners, with competitors ranging from ages four to 80.

The event also gains support from communities and business from around the area. Even with nearby schools participating for the 2022 shield which is awarded to the school that has the most runners.

The last event’s winners were St John’s School in Northwood which had over 100 pupils taking part.

Fundraising manager at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Joe Dunster said: “We are excited to welcome back familiar faces and see a lot of new faces in this, our 21st year.

“We hope everyone signs up and helps us raise lots of money for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre so we can continue to support everyone there having treatment for cancer.”

One such team hoping to raise money at the event is Team NWC (Northwood College for Girls), a group of parents at the school who’ve been participating in the race for the last two years, having raised £17,500 last year.
