Street Kids Direct, a volunteer-run charity based in Amersham, has been honoured with the Youth Support Charity of the Year 2024 Award at the Prestige Awards.
The accolade recognises the charity’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that 100 per cent of all donations go directly to the projects it partners with worldwide.
Moreover, the award highlights the charity’s role in dramatically reducing the number of children living on the streets of Guatemala City, Central America.
Founder and director Duncan Dyason MBE was thrilled to hear of this award in recognition of his work spanning more than 32 years.
Before relocating to Guatemala City in 1992 to work with street children, Duncan served as a youth worker in Amersham.
Adding to the celebration, Duncan’s award-winning book, Miracle Children, has recently been re-released on Amazon to coincide with the upcoming launch of his new book, The Last Child, which will be available later this year.
This latest book chronicles the charity’s efforts in rescuing hundreds of street children in Guatemala, offering a compelling narrative of hope, resilience, and the power of compassion.
