HISTORIC HIKE: Berkhamsted’s oldest walk returns to raise vital funds for charity

Published on: 13th April 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

The 2025 Berkhamsted Walk is returning on Sunday, May 11.

The sponsored walk through the local countryside has been raising funds to support vulnerable children since 1968.

Residents can choose between three different options: the Family Walk of six miles, the Bluebell Walk which is 12 miles, or for those feeling confident enough, there’s the 18-mile Challenge Walk.

All walkers will be provided with instructions and the walks will be clearly signposted. There will also be checkpoints with water and squash, and tea and cake for all participants at the end.

The Blue Tangerine Horsebox Café, which supports young people with learning difficulties, will be at the start of the walk selling hot drinks and refreshments.

The 1st Northchurch Scouts will also be at hand on the day running the bacon buttie/veggie sausage roll breakfast stall, ensuring walkers are fully prepared to take on their walk.
