High quality of parks and green spaces in Three Rivers recognised in Green Flag Awards.
Four parks and green spaces across Three Rivers have been awarded Green Flag status in recognition of their high environmental, maintenance and visitor standards.
South Oxhey Playing Fields, which in recent weeks has had new interpretation boards and entry gates installed, was awarded a Green Flag award for the first time.
Chorleywood House Estate, Leavesden Country Park and Rickmansworth Aquadrome all successfully retained their Green Flag status in Three Rivers.
Cllr Chris Lloyd, lead member for leisure, said: “I am really pleased that Chorleywood House Estate, Leavesden Country Park and Rickmansworth Aquadrome have retained their Green Flag Status for another year and delighted that South Oxhey Playing Fields has achieved this accreditation for the first time.
“I am a regular user of South Oxhey Playing Fields and have attended and supported the parkruns that have taken place there.”
Cllr Sarah Nelmes, leader of Three Rivers District Council, added: “Our local green spaces are vital for our health and well-being, especially during these challenging times.
“These awards are testament to the dedication and hard work of our parks staff who keep our green spaces looking so attractive all year round.”
