An Independent Animal Welfare Charity based in Hemel Hempstead is offering pet food to families in need who are struggling during the COVID-19.
Founding trustee Amanda Broome of charity Animal Support Angels said she wanted to help out during the pandemic.
Speaking to ChorleywoodNews, she said: “We collect food from a number of suppliers, we saw what the power of Facebook was doing on the first lockdown and we decided we could also offer help and support to people in need.
“They just pop us a message and we ask what pets they have and we arrange for them to collect or can drop if needed. We also ask if their cats are neutered and can provide neutering if they wish.”
Talking about how the initiative has been received by the community, Amanda said:
“Very well I hope. We have had a few requests and indeed we are doing a neutering taxi for a cat next week.”
